The identity of Amsterdam

In the publication State of the City 2019, Bureau Onderzoek, Informatie en Statistiek, finds a paradox. The city is popular and growing. More and more people come to Amsterdam to live and work there. On the other hand, access to the city is becoming more selective, newcomers need to be richer and more educated. Temporary residence for a number of years is increasingly becoming the norm. What do these trends mean for the city of the future? What still connects us and how does this change the identity of the city? In a full evening program, a number of special guests present their thoughts on these questions. With alderman Touria Meliani, Geert Mak, Nazmiye Oral, James Kennedy, Halleh Ghorashi and Malique Mohamud.
