Shows
Ordinary people doing ordinary things. Changing a lightbulb, looking at a painting, discovering a grey hair, remembering a childhood memory, waiting in a hotel room, bickering at a company party. In the play Vorher/Nachher, German writer Roland Schimmelpfennig creates the tiniest shift in those lives, and they will never be the same again.

About the play
Schimmelpfennig has been one of Germany's most performed playwrights for years. He knows how to address mundane subjects and contemporary issues in a theatre language that is as poetic as it is accessible.
After grand stories about our fascination with the suffering of others (Carrousel), the conflict between world religions (Salam, for which he won a director's award), and the future of mankind (Brave New World 2.0), director/choreographer Guy Weizman zooms in to the small and ordinary in Before/After. Most lives are not grandiose and adventurous, but that doesn’t make them any less interesting. -|-Perhaps the profoundly human lies exactly in that mundaneness. In an expressive, poetic mosaic performance with a large cast of dancers, singers and actors, a universe of small, recognizable stories comes to life, full of big feelings taking place on the square millimeter.
For this play, director Guy Weizman wants to create a living set of at least thirty people.
