Perspectives on Power

Power and leadership are in uneasy tension. Our relationship to leadership seems to be shifting. In The Architect, internationally acclaimed director Rebecca Frecknall—who will become the Ibsen Artist in Residence at ITA in 2025—presents a bold, contemporary adaptation of Ibsen's The Master Builder, in which the central figure is no longer a man, but a powerful woman at the top. This change redefines everything, sharpening the dynamics between the characters—and challenging our own ways of thinking. What is it, exactly, that we’re fighting for? Why does power remain so charged, so layered, so complex?
