Theatre is an exercise in empathy
Radically empathetic thinking makes you look beyond your first thought. That creates a natural counter-movement to the polarisation in our society. It is from this conviction that we shape our educational activities and school programmes at ITA.
At ITA, children, young people and adults learn to think like an artist: curious, open to different perspectives and able to bring people together. Guided by inspiring drama teachers, they explore society and their own role within it. In doing so we help to build a generation that dares to shape its future with its own insights and creativity.
That vision translates into practice
They attend special school performances during the day, come to regular performances with their class or take part in workshops. In addition, more than 20,000 students attend our performances every year. They take advantage of the special student rate. Not only is it a great pleasure to meet so many young people, we are quite literally building the future. And a lasting bond with theatre.
