Jatou Sumbunu

Jatou Sumbunu (1995) graduated in 2021 from the Amsterdam Academy of Theatre and Cabaret. She made her debut during her internship at Het Nationale Theater in De eeuw van mijn moeder (directed by Eric de Vroedt). After graduating, she appeared in, among others, Theater Oostpool’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (directed by Daria Bukvić), i am hope (Abdel Daoudi), QUAKE (Casper Vandeputte), and the Bellevue lunchtime production Sisters (Nita Kersten).

In 2024 she played Zoë in the Netflix series Costa!!. In 2025 she appeared in Own This Shit by YoungGangsters and Confrontations at Theater Utrecht.

In 2026 she will appear in the Bellevue lunchtime production Teckel, the feature film A Family (directed by Mees Peijnenburg), and the television film Geestig (directed by Ivo van Aart).

Jatou Sumbunu will be appearing at ITA in the 2025/26 season in the revival of Prophet Song (directed by Mina Salehpour).
