Gendermonologen
Shows
Being yourself is easy, it's other people who make it difficult.
Gendermonologen centres on the personal stories of five young people. Stories about what it means not to fall into the binary gender picture. In song, dance and text, they talk about finding your place in our society and everything that comes with it: labels and expectations, public toilets, and the very first love as your 'new' self.

Gendermonologen
Being yourself is easy, it's other people who make it difficult.
"It is scientifically proven that you can make an intuitively good judgement about someone in two seconds. So if you look at me now, what do you see? What did you think? Which category do you put me in: boy, girl, non-binary? What actually is that? What does that look like?"

Five different people who have one thing in common: they challenge themselves and our society. They are constantly the subject of discussion as they choose to be themselves and claim their own happiness.

Festival Lieve stad,
Amsterdam is a city of many faces. Lieve Stad, – a celebration of theatre, art, and dialogue – reflects the dynamics of that metropolitan environment, in which the city itself is a source of inspiration. This festival, a collaboration between ITA and Meervaart, is about bringing people together, in the city, in the theatre, in society. How do we live together and what stories do all individuals and groups carry with them?
