Leve Larbi
With Leve Larbi (Long live Larbi), Introdans presents three works by choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui: Loin, Orbo Novo and the Dutch premiere of Pure. Cherkaoui's flowing, organic dance language and the dizzyingly fast arm movements that are so characteristic of his work, take the dancers to the extremes of their abilities.

Three choreographies by 'choreographer of the year' Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui in one evening.
The Flamish choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui founded his own dance-company Eastman, is artistic director of the Ballet of Flanders and one of the most sought-after choreographers of the moment. And not only within the dance world: he has already created two choreographies for Beyoncé. Cherkaoui has received important international dance awards and the authoritative German magazine Tanz proclaimed him 'choreographer of the year' for the third time in 2018.

Het slotbeeld in 'Loin' is fantastisch: nadat de (overigens zichtbaar geïnspireerde) dansers als dominostenen omvallen, vormen ze in één vloeiende beweging een berg van lichamen, beklommen door een danser die over een denkbeeldige vlakte tuurt. In zulke beelden toont Cherkaoui zich een baas.
