Made in NL
The Junior Company of the Dutch National Ballet has not only already produced a lot of new dance talent, the junior ensemble also guarantees to build its own and diverse repertoire. As part of the new tour program Made in NL, the company presents three premiere works by Dutch-based female choreographers, in combination with highlights from the oeuvres of "Dutch Masters" Hans van Manen and Rudi van Dantzig.

Made in NL
Zoë Greten and Milena Sidorova will both create a new piece for Made in NL. In 2015, the only 22-year-old Greten won the TV show Superkids with a solo performance. Then, she created several works as a student of the National Ballet Academy and, in 2022, she created her first work for the Junior Company, If only I knew the right way, which won her critical acclaim. Milena Sidorova, Young Creative Associate of the Dutch National Ballet since 2021, has also created successful choreographies for the Junior Company before - Withdrawn in 2017 and Bloom in 2022 - and for this program she dives into the studio again with the juniors.
Banksy
The third premiere work in Made in NL comes from Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, who after her hit production Frida - which was still performed by the Dutch National Ballet in February 2024 - is now making her debut with the Junior Company with Scurry Night. Lopez Ochoa created this rousing work in 2021 for the American Ballet Theatre Studio Company, drawing inspiration from artwork by the famous graffiti artist Banksy, which is reflected in both the choreography and costumes.

Choreographic treasures
In Made in NL, the Junior Company also takes on a famous, technically demanding classic - the Pas de Six from Rudi van Dantzig's widely praised Swan Lake - and Hans van Manen's Visions Fugitives (1990). Here, Van Manen responds to the twenty short parts of Prokofiev's piano composition that bears the same name with just as many choreographic treasures.
“In this deliberately fragmentary piece - set to twenty modernist piano miniatures by Sergei Prokofiev - the dancers glide from one atmosphere to another as fleetingly as the title promises. These juniors (from the Dutch National Ballet's Junior Company) do it wonderfully well.” - Het Parool about Visions Fugitives.
