Nomad' is a mosaic of living and inanimate elements of the desert. We get impressions of the fluidity and adaptability of creatures that thrive in the most extreme conditions. The dancing nomads show the spirit of togetherness, of friendship and symbiosis, the key to survival and evolution in an arid world that would be insurmountable without the support of another.-|- Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui is recognised worldwide as one of the leading and most original choreographers of his generation. He has developed an impressive oeuvre that explores and questions the traditions of great cultures in a personal and idiosyncratic way. Recurring elements in his work are spirituality, otherness, the search for identity, religion and the fascination for other cultures. His trademark is a generous, poetic-elegant and lyrical dance style.

Lieve Stad,
Amsterdam is a city of many faces, literally, because we live here together with many different nationalities. Lieve Stad is about the city and all its inhabitants. This festival, a collaboration between ITA and Meervaart, is about bringing people together, in the city, in the theatre, in society. How do we live together and what stories do all individuals and groups carry with them? They all have their own stories, strengths and challenges. Showing these is the starting point of Lieve Stad.
