There is only one good system and that is a sound system
"Flag" is an umbrella term for all social constructs and systems that we take for granted, for immutability, as if it cannot or should not move. These systems are constrained by arbitrary country and city borders. On his new album I could die for a lot, but not for a flag, which is the show's starting point, Gnaoui expresses his doubts and concerns about how these systems work.
All the worlds that can express how our society is today, Gnaoui wants to merge into a genre-transcending medium.

'We are heading towards the limits of capitalism and there is a lot in the world that needs to change. I don't have the solutions, but I want to share thoughts. To question people. It starts with the realisation that things can be done differently. Not everything has to be accepted "just because it is the way it is", I believe almost everything is malleable and elastic and I want to seek out the space to develop form for that.' - Yousef

FESTIVAL LIEVE STAD,
Amsterdam is a city of many faces. Lieve Stad, – a celebration of theatre, art, and dialogue – reflects the dynamics of that metropolitan environment, in which the city itself is a source of inspiration. This festival, a collaboration between ITA and Meervaart, is about bringing people together, in the city, in the theatre, in society. How do we live together and what stories do all individuals and groups carry with them?
