About the performance
Besides being a scientific mission, the Voyager I & II project was also undeniably a romantic mission. The Voyagers carried with them the ‘best of humanity’, in the form of ninety minutes of music and just over a hundred images. A photo of a Chinese school classroom, an oak leaf, a man licking his ice cream. -|-Senegalese drums, Peruvian pan flutes, Mozart and Louis Armstrong. Engraved on a golden plate, made to last a billion years. Ready to be found by something or someone. Who decided what would be included and why? And what does this unique mission say about how we, the human race, want to be remembered?
