Choreographer Jan Martens presents his first world premiere, KID IN A CANDY SHOP, an energetic performance full of endurance, rebellion, and innovative, punk-inspired music. We are also bringing back the beloved and theatrical Horses (2024) by our associate choreographer Marcos Morau.

Wildsong
Jan Martens is a bold and abstract choreographer who takes contemporary music as the starting point for his work. He deliberately chooses alternative music to highlight innovative voices. For his first creation for NDT 1, KID IN A CANDY SHOP, he works with a large ensemble of dancers on the energetic compositions Pretty by Julia Wolfe and GG Concerto by Hanna Kulenty. The work promises a powerful celebration of endurance, resistance, and rebellion.

Marcos Morau, brand new associate choreographer, takes us through the imaginative Horses (2024). Known for his visually impressive, surreal works, Morau explores in Horses what it means to survive in a world of change and chaos. The energetic dancers and electrifying music by Andrzej Panufnik and Caroline Shaw make it an unforgettable experience.
