ZAM Nelson Mandela lecture
Shows
The 5th ZAM Nelson Mandela Lecture will be delivered by the award winning Kenyan investigative journalist John-Allan Namu. The lecture will be embedded in a multifaceted programme under the motto Face Forward, a programme packed with performances, talks, exhibition and more.
35 years after Nelson Mandela's release in February 1990, ZAM provides an event where people from all walks of life can meet. Our search for the meaning of Mandela's practices and vision in the here and now, is more significant than ever, due to current, often very worrying developments in the world today. With this programme, ZAM Magazine makes a stand against discrimination and hate speech, war crimes and oppression and a manifestation of solidarity!
John-Allan Namu (b. 1983) heads Africa Uncensored in Nairobi. Founded in 2015, this media platform has uncovered numerous scandals of abuse of power and self-enrichment by the Kenyan authorities during its 10 years of existence. Namu has received numerous awards for his important and often dangerous work.
