HISTORY
This space used to be one of the entrances where people from the lower classes of society entered and this passage gave access to the ground floor and the first balcony. A small landing kept people dry before they entered. The common people had to do without a shelter and entered through the side doors and went to the second, third and fourth balconies. After the renovation in 2019, the stairwell on the Marnix side is once again accessible to everyone.
