Julidans
Julidans, the international festival of contemporary dance, is internationally renowned for its unusual and daring dance programming. The festival likes to look across borders. Literally: to dance makers from other countries and (dance) cultures. And figuratively: to different approaches to dance. At the festival, you will discover works of both world-famous and notorious choreographers in
a broad programme at various locations across the city, with Internationaal Theater Amsterdam as the festival heart. Julidans is the festival that inspires connoisseurs and curious minds alike.

Julidans 2024: SOMETHING IS BOILING
Just like every year, Julidans shows the current state of international contemporary dance in this 34th edition. Julidans shows the latest creations from outspoken dance makers who respond with their work to the world we live in. The fact that this world is currently uncertain and shaky makes us more aware of our own vulnerability. It also forces us to reflect on how we treat each other and our environment. What does the future look like? Can we join forces and look for alternatives?
Julidans wants to contribute to looking differently, together with dance artists from all over the world, because we believe that art, and certainly non-lingual dance, allows us to look, feel and think differently about others. We continue to believe that creative power will ultimately always triumph over the destructive forces. With the vulnerable, creative and powerful body as an instrument, which we share with our fellow human beings worldwide, dance is the discipline par excellence that can provide images of the human condition, that can connect us, give us hope and comfort.
