Kevin Janssens

Kevin Janssens (1979) graduated from the Herman Teirlinck Studio in 2003. During his final year, he was asked by Flemish film director Guido Henderickx to play the lead in the VTM mini-series Koning van de Wereld (2006). He then took the lead male roles in the Flemish films Windkracht 10: Koksijde Rescue (Hans Herbots, 2006) and Vermist (Jan Verheyen, 2007).

On television he has appeared in (among other things) Vermist (2006-2013), De smaak van de Keyser (2008), Het goddelijke monster (2011), Quiz me Quick (2012) and Salamander (2012). He starred in the feature films Smoorverliefd (Hilde Van Mieghem, 2010), Zot van A (Jan Verheyen, 2010), Het varken van Madonna (Frank Van Passel, 2011) and Weekend aan zee (Ilse Somers, 2012).


In February 2007 Janssens was named Belgium’s SHOOTING STAR (best young actor) at the Berlinale. At Toneelhuis he has performed in Onegin (2006), Belgian Landscapes (2003), Onder de vulkaan (2011) and Desperado (2013). He joined the Toneelhuis actors’ ensemble in 2013. In the 2013-2014 season he appeared in MCBTH (Guy Cassiers and Dominique Pauwels) and Hamlet vs Hamlet (Guy Cassiers and Tom Lanoye).


In the 2014-2015 season we can look forward to seeing him in De blinden, Passions humaines and in the revivals of Hamlet vs Hamlet and Desperado.
