Rebecca Frecknall
Rebecca Frecknall is an award-winning director, who has directed in the UK and internationally. She is Associate Director at the Almeida Theatre in London.
In season 24|25 her direction of Julie will be reprised at ITA.
Rebecca is the director of Cabaret at the KitKat Club (Winner of seven Olivier Awards, including Best Director and Best Musical Revival 2022, Winner of the Critics’ Circle Award for Best Director 2022), and the critically acclaimed productions of A Streetcar Named Desire and Summer and Smoke, both of which won Olivier Awards for Best Revival, and both of which were nominated for the Olivier Award for Best Director.

Both shows opened at the Almeida before transferring to the West End. Rebecca’s production of Sanctuary City at the New York Theatre Workshop won the 2022 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Director of a Play. She has also directed Nine Lessons and Carols, The Duchess of Malfi and Three Sisters at the Almeida Theatre, and Steel at Sheffield Theatres.
