A blazing mosaic tale of living together, feeling connection, and finding happiness.
When 31-year-old Jason moves in with his recently divorced mother Naomi, the quiet, urban suburb is violently shaken. Jason has delusions, which he conjures by singing loudly at night and setting things on fire. For him, nothing is more soothing than fire.

The whole neighbourhood, including the eco-conscious career woman, the queer couple with a desire to have children, and the original neighbourhood resident, must suddenly interrelate to Jason. And perhaps more importantly, to their neighbourhood. With Jason's arrival, living silently alongside each other is no longer an option.
233℃ shows a community in confusion, lonely and mired in individualism, which must find a way to make genuine connections and learn to live together.

Director Abdel Daoudi (Geschiedenis van Geweld) and ROSE stories (Happy in Holland) brought together three inspiring writing talents to shape 233℃. Elly Scheele, George Tobal and Maxine Palit de Jongh then collaborated with Daoudi to create this story, which shows us in a raw and poetic way how the mental health crisis affects us all on a human level.

Festival Lieve Stad,
Amsterdam is a city of many faces. Lieve Stad, – a celebration of theatre, art, and dialogue – reflects the dynamics of that metropolitan environment, in which the city itself is a source of inspiration. This festival, a collaboration between ITA and Meervaart, is about bringing people together, in the city, in the theatre, in society. How do we live together and what stories do all individuals and groups carry with them?
