De Late Late Tante Beb Show
The Netherlands learnt to cook Indonesian with Beb Vuyk's 'Great Indonesian Cookbook', for more than 40 years the cookbook on this cuisine. Less well known is the adventurous life Beb Vuyk (1905-1991) led. As a sharp critic of colonial rule in the Dutch East Indies, as a sympathiser of an independent Indonesia and as persona non grata in post-war Holland.
With Thom Hoffman and Ellen Deckwitz as special guests.

As a sideshow to the performance Brown Sugar Baby, Eric de Vroedt pays tribute to his colourful great-aunt in the show's setting. A dazzling evening with her sharpest lyrics, lyrical jazz, tasty food stories and the most delicious dishes from her cookbook (to taste!). And with Esther Scheldwacht as the 'madame terrible' of Dutch literature.
NB: The Late Late Tante Beb Show is a separate programme and you don't need to have seen the show Brown Sugar Baby to understand it. Of course, it is fun if you attend both programmes.
