DE SITCOMEBACK
In 2025, DE HOE embarked on making a sitcom for the stage — a megalomaniac plan that could only end in thwarted ambitions, broken hearts and bruised egos. Against all laws of logic, the performers pulled it off. DE SITCOM was a triumph, surpassing even Opening Night, one reviewer enthused.
But what if the complex creation behind the scenes had taken its toll? What if the group was in reality on the verge of collapse, one step away from falling apart? External success, internal conflict. And then the question: what now? What on earth do you do now?
Make a comeback, of course, but to what?

Simultaneously a mirror, a spin-off and a fully standalone work
DE SITCOM ended with an existential wandering of Lynchian proportions, in search of a way out of endless laughter. That is precisely where DE HOE picks up the thread: what does the company find at the heart of the labyrinth? In DE SITCOMEBACK — simultaneously a mirror, a spin-off and a fully standalone work — the members of DE HOE attempt to give a definitive provisional answer to the questions they can no longer dance around. Is it all laughable or is it cause for tears? When does lightness become unbearable? And how do you become the inspired group you always hoped to be?
