Do Coração

Sara Correia was recognized by critics and peers in just four years. António Zambujo describes himself as 'happy, proud, and honored' to be able to share a song (Solitude) with her: 'Because Sara is good to our health'. Luísa Sobral admits that she has admired Sara's voice since the first time she heard it. 'Those bass notes go straight to our heart, and we feel every word she sings.'

Joana Espadinha says that in Sara’s voice her song (Chegou Tão Tarde) 'gained Fado contours and a touching intensity.' Carolina Deslandes (Porquê do Fado) announces that Do Coração is a brilliant record.

Pedro Abrunhosa wrote about her: 'Sara incorporates Fado, gives it a future without denying history, she thrills and inspires me.' And Dino d'Santiago sums up: 'When the Truth embodies in a voice'.

Sara Correia, dubbed as the 'Hurricane of Fado', performs live together with a luxury band that includes Diogo Clemente on viola, Ângelo Freire on the Portuguese guitar, Frederico Gato on bass, and Joel Silva on drums.

Sara Correia

Sara Correia was just 13 years old when she won Grande Noite do Fado, a major Fado festival and singing competition in Portugal. Soon after her victory, she was invited to perform at one of Lisbon's most important Fado venues, where she was lucky enough to sing with and learn from some of the greatest voices of Fado, like Celeste Rodrigues, Jorge Fernando and Maria de Nazaré. Sara Correia’s consistent work and talent led her to a Latin Grammy nomination for Do Coração.

Festival Lieve Stad,

Amsterdam is a city of many faces, literally, because we live here together with many different nationalities. Lieve Stad is about the city and all its inhabitants. This festival, a collaboration between ITA and Meervaart, is about bringing people together, in the city, in the theatre, in society. How do we live together and what stories do all individuals and groups carry with them? They all have their own stories, strengths and challenges. Showing these is the starting point of Lieve Stad,.
