Jongens
In Jongens, graduating actor Thor Braun throws himself wholeheartedly into the work of Pasolini. Drawing from his own experiences as a gay man, he enters into a dialogue with Pasolini’s poetry, novels, and films—works steeped in passionate longing: young, naked, muscular men bathing in the Italian midday heat, or wandering through dry fields under the chirping of cicadas.
-|-
Through letters, scenes, and a lot of paint, Thor explores how Pasolini’s frenzy of love relates to himself and to our times. What void was Pasolini trying to fill? And how do you engage with an artist whose work, in 2024, raises critical questions?
