Pride

This summer, Amsterdam will be celebrating WorldPride 2026. ITA joins the festivities with a vibrant programme of queer art, performances, conversations, and community events centred around the theme UNITY. We bring together makers, audiences, and stories that claim space for freedom, solidarity, and visibility.

The programme features the premiere of Wachten op Marsha by Raymi Sambo Maakt, the exhibition PEEKABOO in The Bookshop, and performances by, among others, Merel Severs, Harun Balci, Robin Nimanong, Thorn de Vries, Or Sebastian, and Drek Manor. Together, they put the strength and creativity of the queer community centre stage. From intimate performances to late-night events, ITA becomes a place where past, present, and future meet in the heart of the city during WorldPride.

Public Tour: Out en Proud?!

Could you, as Ramses Shaffy, Annie van Ees, Abke Haring, or Felix de Rooy, truly be yourself on stage—or did you have to hide who you were?

Following last year’s great success, these guided tours return during Pride week. Once again, we open the doors to the largest public and historical theatre collection in the Netherlands, taking you along the building’s most beautiful and most hidden spaces.

Wachten op Marsha

From the explosive Stonewall riots of 1969 to a covert action during WorldPride 2026, Wachten op Marsha takes you into a world where queer rights are once again under pressure. A group of activists is preparing a risky operation, but tensions rise as they clash over how far their struggle should go.

An intense and urgent performance about visibility, freedom, and the price of resistance today.

A quickie with Harun Balci & Merel Severs

A “quickie” is a 30-minute performance by emerging makers—short, intense, and deeply human.

In From Turkey with Love, Harun Balci bursts through characters, languages, and identities. Together with music by Guido Hoek, it becomes a raw, restless flow about who you are, how you hold yourself together, and where you lose—or find—yourself again.

Living in Silence for Too Long by Merel Severs and Jimmi Heijgelaar sets two worlds against each other: containment and release. She draws the line, he tries to cross it. In that collision, a direct and physical struggle emerges with masculinity, femininity, and the right to claim your own body.

A quickie with Robbeduz & Thorn de Vries

A “quickie” is a 30-minute performance by emerging makers—short, intense, and deeply human.

BODySCAN 223 by Robbeduz reveals how invisible systems of technology and data shape our everyday lives. Through dance, music, and digital imagery, the performance probes the question of how “neutral” these systems really are—and how they influence our emotions, desires, and relationships.

SCHILLEN by Thorn de Vries is an intimate solo in which a life is revisited and retold. In sharp, fragmented scenes, Thorn looks back and forward, in dialogue with the girl they were once expected to be. It becomes a direct and compelling search for an identity that keeps shifting and constantly reinvents itself.

A quickie with Or Sebastian & Drek Manor

A “quickie” is a 30-minute performance by emerging makers—short, intense, and deeply human.

Or Sebastian is a queer vocal quartet featuring Felix Schellekens, Timo Tembuyser, Arnout Lems, and Dominic Kraemer. They sing about sex—or the absence of it. About not wanting to be reduced to your sex life, but also about not quite knowing what a gay identity is meant to be within the narrow box that pornography so rigidly defines.

Drek Manor is a queer performance collective where drag, variety, and performance collide in a hybrid, all-consuming spectacle. Lipsyncs, surreal acts, and distorted glamour crack open the space, leaving something behind that unsettles, disrupts, and lingers.
