Mefisto follows an artist who becomes increasingly entangled in the system that elevates him. What starts as “just doing your job” gradually shifts into going along with a regime that undermines freedom and humanity.
The performance raises sharp questions about responsibility and opportunism. When does adaptation become collaboration? And what does it mean to remain true to yourself and others when it may cost you everything?
Based on the novel by Klaus Mann and adapted by Maya Arad Yasur, Mefisto connects past and present. In a time when democratic values are once again under pressure, the performance shows how relevant these moral dilemmas still are today.
