Kroniek van een aangekondigde dood
Less than four hours after the wedding ceremony, the bride is sent home; she is allegedly no longer a virgin. Under pressure from her family, the girl names a boy from the village. Her brothers sharpen their knives... The whole village is informed, but everyone looks away.
A performance that explores the destructive side of tradition, religion, patriarchy, honour and honour killing. About waiting for the unknown. About questioning determination.

Director Celil Toksöz turns it into passionate musical theatre about women's rights, blood vengeance and social pressure.

Festival Lieve Stad,
Amsterdam is a city of many faces, literally, because we live here together with many different nationalities. Lieve Stad is about the city and all its inhabitants. This festival, a collaboration between ITA and Meervaart, is about bringing people together, in the city, in the theatre, in society. How do we live together and what stories do all individuals and groups carry with them? They all have their own stories, strengths and challenges. Showing these is the starting point of Lieve Stad,.
