MusicalMakers is organizing several masterclasses in the coming months featuring leading creators from both the Netherlands and abroad. In this masterclass, none other than Wende will provide insights into the creative process and shares her experiences, giving a glimpse into how musicals and music theater come to life.

Wende, the celebrated Dutch singer-songwriter, along with writer E.V. Crowe, will be hosting a unique songwriting masterclass at ITA on Saturday afternoon, December 30th. Through live segments with Wende at the piano, they will share their experiences about the creative process behind the song cycle The Promise and explain how the lyrics and songs came to be.

The song cycle The Promise, themed around motherhood and femininity, was written in London at the Royal Court Theatre in 2021 and had its premiere there. It will still be showing at ITA in late December and will embark on an international tour in 2024. Secure the last available tickets through The Promise show page.
