Nederlands Theater Festival

Nederlands Theater Festival (NTF) marks the festive start of the new theatre season. Starting every first Thursday in September - for 11 days - right across the city of Amsterdam. NTF presents the finest, most impressive performances of the past season, based on the choices of seven independent juries from the Netherlands and Flanders. Thus, NTF celebrates many genres and forms of theatre: drama, cabaret, youth theatre, mime, performance, and more....

Nederlands Theater Festival will take place from 7 to 17 September in Amsterdam.

The festival starts with the always high-profile lecture De Staat van het Theater and the in-depth interview The State of the World with a famous international artist. The festival concludes festively at Internationaal Theater Amsterdam, with the presentation of the country's most important theatre awards during Het Gala van het Nederlands Theater.

The programme

For 11 days - from 7 to 17 September 2023 - the Nederlands Theater Festival will present this season's finest performances. The festival also showcases successful new developments in theatre, is at the forefront of the conversation about the role of theatre in society and blurs boundaries between different art disciplines.
