ITA continues with digital platform ITALive
ITA continues its successful digital platform ITALive and presents four national and international performances this fall. After 12 successful livestreams since October 30, 2020, ITA will continue with ITALive. Through the livestream, fans can experience what is being performed live on the stage at Leidseplein at that moment. So far, more than 48,000 tickets have been sold for the live streams in 73 different countries. This autumn, ITA will present four new live streams: two classics by the ITA ensemble (A little life and Ibsen house) and the special international productions La Ménagerie de verre (directed by Ivo van Hove, starring Isabelle Huppert) and Gardenia by Alain Platél.
Wouter van Ransbeek, director of ITA: 'With ITALive we have created a beautiful third stage during the lockdown. We would like to continue this with an adventurous programming this autumn. I am really proud that artists such as Hanya Yanagihara, Isabelle Huppert and Alain Platél believe in the quality and the audience expanding power of our digital performances. ITA does not see digital theater as a temporary solution in the corona crisis, but rather as an important development for the future. It is a modern and barrier reducing way of programming for a broad and new audience: so far 40% percent of the ITALive viewers are new to ITA and 75% of the viewers come from outside Amsterdam'.
The enthusiasm about ITALive also resonates in the financial support of private donors and partners such as Fonds21 and Clifford Chance. We are proud that the long-standing collaboration with the international law firm Clifford Chance will focus on ITALive in the coming season: 'Clifford Chance recognizes itself in the ambitions of ITA', says Titus de Vries, Managing Partner of Clifford Chance Amsterdam. 'Just like International Theater Amsterdam, Clifford Chance is an organization that looks ahead and innovates continuously. As an ITALive sponsor, we are delighted to be able to contribute to this development'.
