Delima studied at the ArtEZ Toneelschool in Arnhem and received a nomination for the Colombina, the prize for the most impressive female supporting role in Onze Straat by Daria Bukvić at Het Nationale Theater, even before graduating in 2019.

Joy Delima: ‘I still can't believe that I can join this ensemble so early after graduating. I am incredibly grateful that I am able to develop myself as an actress here, amidst such an incredible ensemble, led by Ivo van Hove. I look forward to sharing stories with them that matter. Not only in the theater, but in our society.’

For 24 centuries, writers and theater makers have told the story of the daughter of the king, Medea, who is rejected by her husband and subsequently kills her children. Simon Stone mixes Euripides' play with the true story of Debora Green, an American woman who killed her children in the 1990s.
