In this first Artist Talk of the season, moderator Carolien Borgers talks to Alida Dors, after the performance Primisi.
Alida Dors, theatre maker and choreographer, embodies, among other things, the principles from hip-hop culture: learning by doing, crew mentality and each one teach one. They resonate in all Alida's work, because with her, every team is polyphonic. With each crew member's individuality, with text, with music, and a powerful, rich dance language, one and one is at least three in Alida's work. She has been an artistic director at Theater Rotterdam since 2020, and has been shaping the artistic direction of the TR makers house ever since.
