De ruggengraat van Andrés Marín: vooruitgang zonder verwoesting
Ontmoet een van de allergrootste vernieuwers van de flamenco: Andrés Marín (Sevilla, 1969), telg uit een flamencogeslacht. Zijn gelijknamige vader was danser van naam, zijn moeder (Isabel Vargas) gevierd zangeres. Zijn carrière als solist begon nota bene 25 jaar geleden in Nederland. Daarna toog Marín naar Japan, Berlijn, Amerika en werkte hij met grootheden als de choreografen Bill T. Jones en Jirí Kylián. Nu opent hij de Flamenco Biënnale 2019. U krijgt de unieke gelegenheid deze ‘Picasso van de dans’ live te ontmoeten tijdens een nagesprek, onder leiding van journaliste Annette Embrechts en Ernestina van de Noort, artistiek leider van de Flamenco Biënnale.
Hoe bereik je vooruitgang zonder verwoesting aan te richten? Hoe ga je als een Don Quichot de traditionele flamenco te lijf maar zorg je ook voor avant-garde zonder dwaasheid?
