Liat Waysbort has developed a distinctive dance language that is powerful and explosive, and at the same time fragile and thoughtful. She uses the whole body, including hands, feet, fingers, toes, eyes, tongue, and ears. Her work always has a recognisable human theme that touches the audience.

During Gioia Fiorito's two manias her biggest dreams and darkest nightmares became reality. At full speed she became an unstoppable force of nature with a unique perception of the world around her. Now, ten years later, she lives a regular life, but not without the magnificence of her imagination. In Gioia Live, together with dancer Mara Hulspas, she honours the power of fantasy, dreams of the future and reflects on the past. With dance, video and text, a game unfolds between delusion and reality. The warm, elusive and powerful movements of Mara and the poetic, humorous and striking reflections of Gioia flow together in an intense performance that celebrates the autonomy of the individual.
-|-Waysbort began her dance career with Ohad Naharin's world-famous Batsheva Dance Company. She saw a performance by this choreographer that kept haunting her: Sinking of the Titanic (1986). The piece is inspired by the unyielding orchestra that kept on playing. None of the orchestra members survived the disaster. Years later, in 2017, Waysbort made her own interpretation of this performance, of which a first version could be seen at Julidans.
