HOPE
Doubt and skepticism are essential in a stable society, as they help critically examine power structures. But what happens when those in power use this doubt as a weapon, stoking mistrust and twisting truths into lies? In this dangerous game, systems crumble, and autocracies gain more and more ground.

Hope
The German playwright Maria Milisavljević explores this dynamic in Hope. With references to mythological figures and historical events, she connects the past and present to show how repression and resistance continue to influence each other throughout the ages.
Hope is a multilingual and interdisciplinary production full of dance, acting, and music. The performance is the result of a unique collaboration between NITE and the Thalia Theater Hamburg.

Through the combination of various disciplines and languages, Hope not only reflects on the thematic content of power and manipulation but also on the broader question of how societies deal with uncertainty. As structures wobble and authoritarian forces increase, the search for truth and justice continues. In this way, Hope offers a poignant and urgent look at the tension between doubt and conviction, repression and rebellion.
