Jubileumconcert - 25 jaar Grachtenfestival!
In the large hall of the Internationaal Theater Amsterdam we watch and listen to various generations of Grachtenfestival musicians. For example, former Artists in Residence Raoul Steffani (baritone) and Karin Strobos (mezzo-soprano) are guests, and our current Artist in Residence, cellist Alexander Warenberg is of course also part of the show. Star oboist Pauline Austria also appears on the stage; she performed 25 years ago during the very first Grachtenfestival.

Leading jazz musicians can also be heard on this evening: saxophonist and composer Kika Sprangers, who was given the composition assignment in 2019, among others, and the very young jazz vocalist and double bassist 14-year-old Jala Heywood show of their talents. The musicians are accompanied by the Club Classique Orchestra, specially composed for the festival, led by conductor Joost Geevers. You can enjoy works from Bach to Tchaikovsky, and from operetta to Kika Sprangers’ own work.
