Luan Buleshkaj is a word artist in the broadest sense and an established name in the spoken word scene in the Netherlands. The Albanian Amsterdam native initially made his name mainly as a battlerapper. Since his entrance into the poetry world, he has performed on many renowned stages in the Netherlands, from Lowlands to Paradiso. He was house poet at Spijkers met Koppen, FunX and Pakhuis de Zwijger. In September 2020, Luan Buleshkaj won the Best of Fringe 2020 at the Amsterdam Fringe Festival, and a month later he won the Shaffy Cheque at the Amsterdams Kleinkunst Festival.

Leeuwenkind is his first solo performance. In it, he tackles both personal and topical subjects. Themes such as growing up in Amsterdam-West as an only child with a single mother, the war in Kosovo, male vulnerability, multiculturalism and friendship are addressed. He is supported musically by guitarist Yassine Belghanch. 'Spoken word at top level, with a touch of kleinkunst and cabaret,' said the Amsterdam Fringe Festival jury.

Festival Lieve Stad,

Amsterdam is a city of many faces, literally, because we live here together with many different nationalities. Lieve Stad is about the city and all its inhabitants. This festival, a collaboration between ITA and Meervaart, is about bringing people together, in the city, in the theatre, in society. How do we live together and what stories do all individuals and groups carry with them? They all have their own stories, strengths and challenges. Showing these is the starting point of Lieve Stad,.
