The Neverending Story
Bastiaan is bullied for his rich imagination. He retreats to the attic of school where he reads the book 'The Neverending Story'. He finds himself in a world brimming with stories threatened by the encroaching 'Nothing'. He experiences the adventures of the young hero Atrejoe and learns that the sick Little Empress can only be saved by a human child. Bastiaan doesn't dare at first, but then he ends up as a human child in 'Fantasia' after all. Will Bastiaan become the hero? This large-venue performance is performed by 7 actors, who play all those fantastic creatures with puppets and masks, and 5 musicians from Slagwerk Den Haag, among others.

Filiaal Theatermakers is Utrecht's youth theatre company. Our company gives space to imagination, so you see more than just your own reality. We show not only what we make, but also how we make it. This transparency stimulates the imagination. We do this interdisciplinary with play, (live) music and singing, puppets, objects and (live video) images. Het Filiaal Theatermakers travels nationally and internationally, from Groningen to Goes and from Sydney to Shanghai.
