On All Things Earth
How can we deal with the inevitable damage the earth has incurred and can we possibly still limit it, are the great concerns of our time. Theater collective Nineties asks itself: but what if we change our perception? Can we tell new stories that thus change our worldview? Could a different worldview cause a more liveable future?

On All Things Earth
Nineties presents in collaboration with video artist Noralie (Opposites, Eefje de Visser) and writer Hannah van Wieringen (Toneelgroep Oostpool, NNT) a grand stage production with live music about co-existing on earth, ongoingness, uncertainty and open endedness. Multi instrumentalist Frank Rosaly composes a suspenseful sonic world and together with actor Yannick Noomen he brings to life a larger-than-life visual database of all things earth. They take you into a story in which humanity tears down its self made pedestal. On All Things Earth is a reconsideration of the hierarchical relationship between human and non-human, culture and nature, technology and biology. Playfully Nineties creates a worldview in which ‘being part of’ takes on a whole other meaning.

Nineties is a theater collective producing contemporary works, using and fusing the elements of visual arts, digital media, literature, music and performance, while pleasantly disrupting theater codes. Always in search of new theatrical forms that reflect on our present Zeitgeist and in search for the audience that defines that same Zeitgeist, Nineties creates plays both on and off site, offline and online, for big crowds and intimate groups, surrounded by cold concrete or red velvet, mixing all kinds of art disciplines and meandering between highbrow and pop culture.
Anne Maike Mertens about On All Things Earth
'For this production I’ve been exploring how to visualize that new sense of ‘being part of’, so the physical presence of the actor, the live music and the digital visuals are equal as storytellers: no main characters in this story.'
