Shakespeare Tour
In this fully English-language program, you and your students will be guided through our
impressive building and introduced to the theatre icon Shakespeare. During this interactive tour, students will discover several famous works, including Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet. They will observe, listen, and reflect as they move through the halls of the Amsterdamse Stadsschouwburg. Let your students be inspired by these rich stories and immerse themselves in the world of Shakespeare.

Guided Tours
For centuries, stories about humanity and the world have been told in the Amsterdamse Stadsschouwburg. In this monumental building, actors found their voice and dancers created their first choreographies. During a tour of Amsterdam’s most beautiful building, doors are opened that normally remain closed to other visitors.
Students learn about the history of theatre and its influence on the Dutch language. For example, Vondel was the first to use the word schouwburg for the opening of Amsterdam’s theatre. Students explore their own role and discover how they can find their voice.
