Orkater / KONVOOI / Belle van Heerikhuizen

After the successful ILIAS in 2019, KONVOOI is once again making a modern adaptation of a classic from literary history, interspersed with musical numbers and five-part harmonies. De meester en Margarita is an illusionary trip about misunderstanding, the fear of the unknown and the courage to not know for sure.

De Meester en Margarita

In De meester en Margarita, the devil visits Moscow to expose the self-deception of its inhabitants. What follows is an alienating journey alongside three people who no longer understand the world and who each deal with it in their own way. We meet a young poet who becomes convinced that he is living a lie, a depressed writer who has locked himself up in an asylum and Margarita, who is looking for something true above all else.

Within the talent development programme Orkater/De Nieuwkomers, young musicians and theatre makers convert their ideas into musical theatre productions that are played in theatres and at festivals. De meester en Margarita is the 24th production of Orkater/De Nieuwkomers.

A 24-Decade History of Popular Music is Mac’s subjective history of America since its founding in 1776. This abridged version of the show is a highly immersive and outrageously entertaining crash course in the 240 years (and counting) of the history of American culture and dysfunction.
