Tom Lanoye, a passionate performer and literary star, turned sixty on 27th August 2018. Because of that memorable event, a book with photographs and unpublished archival material was published, an exhibition was held in Ghent's Krook, the city library of Ghent, and he is touring for a full year with the performance Jubilee Lanoye.

Travelling birthday celebration.

In the first part of the performance he performs, live and on request, texts from his by now impressively large body of work. In the second part, assisted by contrabass player Nicolas Rombouts and drummer Teun Verbruggen, he makes “word noise and language music”. They play the raw, striking 'blue notes' that have characterised Lanoye's work since his first poems and performances, back in the early eighties. So it becomes a travelling birthday party.

Internationaal Theater Amsterdam, Noord Nederlands Toneel, Het Nationale Theater, Toneelgroep Oostpool, Tryater, Theatergroep Suburbia, Toneelschuur, Het Zuidelijk Toneel en Theater Rotterdam doen mee.
