This is the situation
This is the situation is an investigation. It is no ordinary performance, but an act of hope and connection. It is our answer to the question: how do you keep dreaming in a world that keeps trying to break you?

In this interactive event, you will follow a number of different stories exploring what it means to be together, or not be able to be together, or what being together is essential. In this piece, we will read and play Ruh al Ruh (soul of my soul) that Rafat Al Aydi wrote in a day and night during the war in Gaza this summer. We also use voice messages shared during the war. In an open setting, the audience is invited to watch, experience and think with us; How do you imagine a way towards each other?

Muriël Besemer, Rafat Al-Aydi (Gaza), Linda Lugtenborg, Abdelhadi Baaddi and Waël Quadrieh are an occasional collective of Dutch and Palestinian theatre makers who seek to shape and tell stories about the war in Palestine and hardening Dutch society. In our work, we explicitly seek dialogue and connection through theatrical imagination and philosophical research.
