Overhoop
Growing up with the feeling of being 4-0 behind, hopelessly at odds with your own thoughts. Becoming an adult in a world that cries out anxiously that it is neglected. What are you waiting for? And where do you get your hope nowadays? Every day is a new beginning and the world you live in is your world.
Overhoop is a performance created for and by young people.
The performance has been specially created for MBO students.
Dates: 15 - 29 April 2022
Creators: Karlijn Benthem and Judith Hofland
Cast: MBO Theatre / PACT+ students
Overhoop is a sharp, critical ode to all that is yet to come.
At ITA, PACT+ theatre students come together to take the measure of a world that is in turmoil. These young people invite you to think together and engage in dialogue, rather than discuss things we all don't yet know how to deal with. Nobody is the one in charge, we all are. We set up a theatrical place of hope where we exchange ideas. How does hope arise, where do we get the necessary ingredients?
Who is in charge? What do you hope for, for yourself, the people you love, the people you will never know, the world and for your unborn children. Ever and Never are close together, so let's start. Let's hope ... for what?
-|-The making of Overhoop has been quite a process. The first concept was developed before the first lockdown and now the third concept will finally have its well-deserved premiere in 2022. Because making theatre in times of a pandemic involves uncertainties, it was decided to make the performance accessible both live and online (via Zoom).
