Sea Wall is an oppressive monologue written by Simon Stephens. Emmanuel Ohene Boafo - nominated for the Louis d'Or for this role - will perform the monologue in English.
Jury report - official jury selection 2021
In Sea Wall, actor Emmanuel Ohene Boafo of Het Nationale Theater makes an unfathomable sadness understandable. He plays a man who loses his daughter through a cruel twist of fate, and on the debris of his pain and loss searches out loud for a new grip. A courageous, almost impossible attempt that pierces the very marrow of the soul. Sea Wall inflicts deep wounds but keeps finding hints of hope and love.
