Lieve Stad,: The mental state of the city

The harsh realities and complex themes of our time have an effect on our mental state: we take hits, react and adapt. In the upcoming edition of Lieve Stad,, as an antidote, we present performances in which creators, for whom themes such as decolonisation, polyphony and multilingualism are self-evident, make us look at our mental state with new eyes.

Lieve Stad, is all about encounters, both with each other and with the different perspectives our city has to offer. Thus, the festival offers space for friction, confrontation and exciting encounters, as well as healing and relaxation.

Lieve Stad, – a celebration of theatre, art, and dialogue – reflects the dynamics of that metropolitan environment, in which the city itself is a source of inspiration. This festival, a collaboration between ITA and Meervaart, is about bringing people together, in the city, in the theatre, in society. How do we live together and what stories do all individuals and groups carry with them?
