About the performance
This time, Hansel and Gretel don’t get lost in the woods. Kicked out of the house by their parents, they wander the abandoned streets of the big city at night. They meet the optimistic MooiWeerWolf who never seems to worry about anything, and the philosophical GroteStadsDuif who keeps giving conflicting advice. Will they ever go back to their parents, or will they continue to try and make it on their own?
-|-A bittersweet mix of opera, play, song, hip-hop, and dance makes this grim fairy-tale an unforgettable experience for the whole family. An exciting, funny, and touching coming of age story accompanied by surprising video stills of Amsterdam.
ITA & De Toneelmakerij
Together with youth theatre company de Toneelmakerij, we are developing new ‘Main Hall performances’ in Amsterdam. We already made a good start with De Toverfluit in 2019. From now on, we will present a new performance together every year in September; a regular fixture during the autumn break. After the premiere, we will bring the performance back in the autumn for a longer run, with both private school performances and public performances.
