Mensen met problemen
In Mensen met problemen, a translated collection by German-Swiss author Sibylle Berg, we follow four women at different stages of their lives. Their expectations are high, their behaviour is impulsive, and their existence unfolds in a world that is constantly in motion.
They date, work, lose themselves in digital worlds and search for stability in relationships that appear and disappear just as quickly. As their lives accelerate, so does the surrounding world, shifting from personal chaos to social unrest in the streets and in politics.

Between desire, resistance and survival
The Wunderbaum theatre company and NTGent are presenting, for the first time in the Netherlands and Belgium, a translated cycle of plays by the German-Swiss author Sibylle Berg. *People with Problems* follows, in four parts, the lives of a woman and her friends through different stages of their lives.
They are young. Their expectations are high, their actions tempestuous. They sell homemade drugs online and are constantly available across all digital channels. They date, have meaningless sex and cry in toilets. Then they are no longer so young. They have children and a longing for the countryside. Their bodies and teenagers rebel. Friendships and careers crumble. Nature disappoints.-|-
People with Problems is a poignant tale. A frantic attempt to do things differently and better. An escape into nature, crime, love, another planet, a bomb attack. What are we fighting for? How much must you give up for it? What is left to save?
About the makers
For Mensen met problemen, the Belgian city theatre NTGent and the Dutch creative collective Wunderbaum are joining forces. Long-standing members of the collective, Maartje Remmers and Wine Dierickx, take to the stage alongside actors Bavo Buys and Laura De Geest. For Koen Tachelet, this new production marks a joyful return to NTGent, where he served as chief dramaturg between 2005 and 2010.
