Leedvermaak trilogie
Leedvermaak trilogie
Shows
Legendary theatre marathon to be seen in the Netherlands for the first time.
Director Eric de Vroedt and a cast of great actors perform the legendary plays Leedvermaak (1982), Rijgdraad (1995) and Simon (2001) by one of the country's most acclaimed playwrights: Judith Herzberg. Director Eric de Vroedt: ‘Leedvermaak trilogie is about great and small human suffering, with the temptation to remain silent and look away. Herzberg has written this masterfully in seemingly light-hearted, tingly dialogue.’

The joys and sorrows of an ‘ordinary’ Dutch family
It starts in 1972 with an exuberant wedding party. Lea marries for the third time, to Nico. For thirty years you follow their lives and those of their parents, their children and their friends. People connect and separate again. Children are born, the elderly die. Traumas are brought up and tucked away deep again. For three decades you follow the joys and sorrows of this ‘normal’ Dutch family.
-|-Theatre marathon with live music
Never before have the three famous plays been shown in Dutch theatres in one evening. Leedvermaak trilogie is a light-hearted, wry and moving family story. A stage marathon with live music and two intermissions.
This performance can be seen in the run-up to the commemorations and celebrations on 4 and 5 May.
