Anna Karènina
Anna falls in love, and just then, like an omen she senses, death begins to hang over the whole play. It's clear that Tolstoy has read Flaubert because Anna repeats the same words as Emma Bovary when she decides to stop letting herself be pushed around: everything is a lie, everything is deception, everything is false, everything is evil. Like Emma, the road to happiness will cost her life. This hypocritical society will not allow her to do what they would like to do but dare not.

Anna Karènina
Who is Anna when she abandons her husband and child? Who is Anna without the family name that gives her a place in the world? What do others see when she breaks with the hypocritical society around her? Why does everyone always project themselves onto women? Why can't we have control over our own bodies? Why are we ‘the woman’, instead of being women, different and bound together by an unfair history that has been shared throughout the world and since time immemorial? What does each of us project when we see a woman's body?

Anna and the other women in the play are brought on stage to stand trial. But before they do, they will tell us what really happened to them, how they felt (no one cared, of course) and what drove one of them to commit suicide.
There is so much beauty in Anna Karènina: a powerful and transformative spiritual river that constantly reminds us that beyond the inertia of desire with which we devour each other, there may still be time to find a place where we can dream of happiness.
