Ochtenddauw
Ochtenddauw is an immersive duet between dance and saxophone, exploring and pushing the boundaries of expression and emotion In this 30-minute performance, saxophonist Diana Dzhabbar's rich and expressive sounds, a blend of traditional jazz, soul, ambient, hip-hop and modern music, enter into a dialogue with Vainergill Thurnim's explosive movements, which find their roots in West African dance aesthetics and (urban) contemporary. Together they create a dynamic and confrontational interaction in which pent-up emotions are given space. In their exploration, Vainergill and Diana delve into the complexity and transformative power of anger. Together, they take the audience on a journey where anger is no longer seen as purely negative, but as a necessary force that paves the way along the way to healing and renewal.
