BEHIND THE WALL, the ambitious new dance production by Conny Janssen, raises urgent questions about identity, connection, and loss. With live music by the boundary-pushing artist Roufaida, the performance takes the audience on a powerful journey into what it means to have a home and what happens when that home changes or disappears.

The performance builds on the universe of Janssen’s earlier work HOME from 2017 and 2021, which explored the question of where and with whom we feel at home. The diverse and adventurous dancers of Conny Janssen Danst bring this journey to life with an intense mix of raw energy and still, poetic moments. Memories, loss, hope, and connection constantly intertwine as the dancers navigate a world full of personal and universal questions.-|-
At the heart of the performance is the live music by Dutch-Moroccan artist Roufaida. Her layered sound, blending North African influences, alternative pop, and poetic lyrics, deepens the themes and amplifies the emotional impact of the dance. Together, dance and music create a world that is intimate and expansive, powerful and vulnerable, making the complexity of home, identity, and human connection palpable.
